Operation Guide

1. Check Adapter Compatibility

Make sure the pre-installed adapters match your telescope and camera connections. If needed, swap them with the appropriate included adapters.

Replace the Telescope Adapter

Remove the six Phillips screws, then replace the pre-installed Telescope Adapter with the appropriate Telescope Adapter included in the kit.

Replace the Camera Adapter

  1. Remove the Filter Drawer
  1. Loosen the four Camera Adapter Locking Screws. The inverted V-shaped locking structure requires extra loosening before removal.

  1. Replace it with the appropriate Camera Adapter included in the kit.

2. Install the Camera

  1. Remove the Filter Drawer.

  1. Loosen the four Camera Adapter Locking Screws.

  1. Remove the Camera Adapter from the OAG assembly.

  1. Attach the Camera Adapter to your camera.

  1. Put the camera assembly back onto the OAG.

  1. Look through the OAG opening and rotate the camera until the sensor’s long side is aligned with the prism.

  1. Tighten the four Camera Adapter Locking Screws.

  1. Check through the OAG opening again and adjust the prism height to avoid blocking the sensor.
 

3. Set Up Off-Axis Guiding

  1. Remove the CAA Locking Knob

  1. Attach the OAG to the telescope.

  1. Install the guide camera into the guide camera adapter

  1. Turn on the main camera and focus the main imaging system.

  1. Turn on the guide camera and use the helical focuser to bring the guide image into focus.
 

4. Install the Filter

  1. Pull out the Filter Drawer.

  1. Install the M48 filter on the Light-In Side of the Filter Drawer.

  1. Reinsert the Filter Drawer while keeping it pressed against the Light-Out Side of the OAG assembly.
